SASSA Takes Expert Services to Fernie Community

Tuesday, August 27, 2024

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services towards the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering expert services for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency said it truly is alarmed with regards to the high amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some significant number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no fully functional office dedicated to service the area every day. The support level developed for intervention encounters a large influx of possible beneficiaries, SRD which makes it difficult with the Workplace to attend to all people who visit a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra means to enable the servicing of all customers and increase usage of Social Assistance expert services,” the agency said.
